Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

7/02/2017

Its amazing how much we learn just by spending time online. Up until two months ago I knew nothing about the micellar technology, I was going through my Facebook page when I saw a video by pop beauty and this was used. Instantly I knew I had to have it… could this be what I’ve been waiting for? I’ve found myself taking short naps with a full face of makeup because I was too lazy to go through the process to take my makeup off.

According to Garnier, Like a magnet, micelles capture and lift away dirt, oil and makeup without harsh rubbing, leaving skin perfectly clean and refreshed without over-drying. Does it work? Find out

INGREDIENTS

PACKAGING: A plastic bottle with a flip-top cap. The bottle itself is pretty sturdy and sizable, and the flip top cap makes it easy to open and shut. It's a nice-looking little bottle

FORMULA The formula is fluid and water-like, and easy to dispense. It comes in three different formulas. I got the green because most of the products I use are water proof. The difference is the blue cap has some oil that you shake up before you use but trust me- it isn't that thick oily stuff like in a lot of removers- you won't feel it at all.

85% of cosmetic products I use are waterproof or pro long wear, name it from eyeliner to matte liquid lipsticks to foundation, and if it’s long lasting and waterproof count me in. The only downside to this is it has to be removed at the end of the day… Every day!!! Nothing is worse than that raccoon eye after taking a shower or washing your face and  using one of those almost sandpaper like makeup remover cloths on my under eye to get the rest off which sadly I react negative. not to mention, the waste it is to use one corner of those things just to get the extra black specks off of my under eye.

MY THOUGHTS

I’ve tried all of the Garner micellar cleansing waters. The pink one is too moisturizing for my oily skin, the blue one is almost perfect, but the green bottle is the best one in my opinion!

I use this with cotton cosmetic rounds. I squirt a little into the pad and remove my all-over face makeup. Then, I tear another cotton round in half, dampen those with this product, and then put them over my closed eyelids and let it soak into my eye makeup. I do this so that I don't have to harshly scrub at my eyelids and eyelashes, which causes wrinkles and eyelashes falling out. I wait about two minutes with the rounds on my eyes, and then I gently swiped away the makeup with the rounds. So far, this has seemed to be a very effective way of removing my eye makeup without damaging the delicate skin around my eyes. I honestly expected the product to leave me with that tight, dry feeling. Instead, after using the product, it left my face feeling soft and satiny.
I’m going to continue to use Micellar Water, unless I notice adverse effects on my skin. It was so easy! Condensing multiple steps into one allowed me to save time, but also made my bank account smile. It’s basically a life cheat code. I definitely suggest that you give Micellar Water a try.

PROS:

  • Fragrance free.
  • Effectively removes dirt, oil, and non-waterproof makeup.
  • Doesn't leave skin feeling dry or tight.

CONS:

  • The oil goes right back to the top a couple of seconds after shaking and I have to shake it again every time I need to wet a cotton pad argghhhhhh!!!
