Exfoliate Skin: Three Homemade Recipe

1/31/2015

Have you ever wondered how your skin can be youthful and smooth?   My girlfriends and I have a tendency to watch people when we go to the mall.  The ladies who go to the spa have smoother looking skin and we can usually see the difference between those women who exfoliate and those who don’t.
Exfoliation is the process where dead skin cells are removed from the top layer of the skin.  It usually helps to control oiliness, pimples, scars and leaves the skin smoother.

Professional exfoliation or peeling has been known to remove scars or unwanted marks.  The process works in such a way that when the old skin is peeled off the new skin that replaces it is of better quality.
Women who exfoliate have smoother and softer skin.   The thing is, there is no need to go the spa to exfoliate (sorry spa owners) when you can do it at home.  There are so many things that you can use, that only listing three recipes makes me feel kind of like I am depriving you of a whole heap of tips.
Before you begin any exfoliation process it is important that you clean the skin to remove makeup or any other products that you may have on it. Wash your face, pat it dry and let’s begin.

Recipes For Homemade Exfoliation

Exfoliation To Remove Dark Spots
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 egg white
1 tsp. lemon juice
Mix all ingredients together and gently massage the face and neck for five to ten minutes, using a circular motion from the inside out and bottom up. Wash with warm water and finish off with cool water.

Please Note: Whenever you do this treatment avoid exposure to the sun.   Lemon juice has a bleaching effect, so wash thoroughly from the skin to avoid a blotchy effect on your face.

Relaxing Whole Body Exfoliating Scrub
1-cup cornmeal
1/2-cup coconut cream
1/2 teaspoon orange essential oil
1/2-teaspoon chamomile oil
Mix the cornmeal with enough coconut cream to make a paste, stir in the orange essential oil and chamomile oil.  Gently massage the face, neck and the parts of your body that you are exfoliating and leave on for about three minutes then clean with water.  Finish with a cold rinse.

Going Nuts Exfoliating Facial Scrub
1-tablespoon sugar
1-teaspoon coconut oil
Mix the sugar with the coconut oil and make a paste, massage your face in a circular motion for five minutes with this yummy smelling facial scrub. Rinse with warm water. Finish with cold.

Once Exfoliation is Complete
After exfoliating it is important to use a toner that will remove any residues of products and that will help seal the skin. Apple cider vinegar is a good toner that works well, dilute with water before applying to face, close your eyes because it stings and finish off with cold water to close your pores. Your face should feel toned and your pores closed.

Note: Do not exfoliate more than twice per week, you need to give your skin’s natural oils a chance to work.
